Water is an image of the Spirit given to us (John 7:38-39). Abundance of food and drink represents the fullness of salvation, of the joys of the Messianic Kingdom of God's boundless goodness and generosity.
It is often an occurring image in the Bible, finding it's deepest expression in the banquet of the Eucharist where God himself becomes our food and drink.
God's gift of Life - Isaiah 55:1-11 read at the Easter Vigil:
"Oh everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and you that have no money,
come, buy and eat!"
