In the Church of England SS. John Fisher & Thomas More are commemorated as
Reformation Martyrs on 6th July.
A Yorkshire man, student then Chancellor of Cambridge University, Bishop
of Rochester, Cardinal. A renowned scholar, tutor and preacher. Acting
according to his conscience he refused to sign the Oath of Supremacy under
Henry VIII and was imprisoned and executed on 22nd June at Tower Hill.
