Composing Sacred Scripture: How the Bible was Formed
By Donald Senior CP
Composing Sacred Scripture: How the Bible Was
Formed presents the fascinating story of the
Bible’s formation. Taking shape over centuries, the Bible was incubated in the
liturgical life of Hebrew and Christian communities, nourished by their prayer
and preaching. Fr. Donald Senior deftly introduces readers to the anatomy of
the Bible and the history of its development. Who wrote the texts? When were
they written? How were the books of the canon chosen? Fr. Senior shares the
best current Bible scholarship and also explains the Church’s teachings about
the inspired and revealed written Word of God. This book will intrigue and
satisfy everyone engaged in ministries of the Word and all who want to deepen
their Christian faith.
Paperback 5 3/8 x 8 3/8, 144 Pages.
