Celebrating the Lectionary for Junior High provides
15-minute Lectionary-based catechetical sessions for every Sunday and Holyday
of Obligation. It includes reproducible send-home pages for each Sunday
and Holyday of Obligation that encourage adolescents to develop a practice of
prayer and bring the message of the Lectionary into their daily lives.
This resource picks up where most textbooks or traditional catechetical
programs leave off, providing young people with timely background and
reflection on the seasons of the liturgical year and readings for each Sunday
and Holyday of Obligation. Use of this resource as part of a junior high
religion curriculum or faith-formation programme will help adolescents to explore
their Catholic identity through the words of the Lectionary, passages from
major Church documents, and solemnities, feasts and memorials of the
liturgical year.
