Be Still - A Prayer Resource for Schools & Parishes
A
Meditation programme with accompanying PowerPoint slide shows by the
Benedictine Sisters of Turvey Abbey.
The PowerPoint Presentation 'Be Still' introduces
children and their teachers to a variety of meditative approaches to prayer.
Young children have an innate capacity for quiet, reflective prayer and respond
well to traditional meditative techniques. These meditations on CD-ROM are
based on The Senses, The Old Testament and The New Testament and can be used as
part of an RE or catechetical programme or as stand-alone sessions.
'Be Still' offers a range of reflective exercises
which are designed to build upon children’s' natural gifts and also to
introduce them to traditional forms of Christian meditation.
Prepared from personal experience by a sister of
Turvey Abbey who was a school teacher before studying theology and becoming a
Benedictine and who also provides in service training and support for teachers.
