Michael Faraday FRS, Physicist and Chemist.
Born: 22nd September 1791, Newington Butts, London.
Died: 25th August 1867, Hampton Court Palace, Richmond upon Thames.
He turned down a knighthood because of his Christian belief that it was
contrary to the bible to pursue riches or worldly reward.
Discovered electromagnetic induction, the principle behind the electric
transformer and generator.
Discovered the principles underlying electrolysis.
Discovered benzene.
