Ninian, Bishop. Feast Day 16th September.
Lived circa 432 thought to have been educated in Rome and sent by the
Holy See to evangelise the Picts (Scotland). Reputed to have founded the
monastic community at Whithorn, south of Wigtown. He is a witness to
the early faith of the Church in Scotland.
