Gregory the Great, Pope and Doctor of the Church.
Feast Day 3rd September.
Together with Ambrose, Augustine of
Hippo and Jerome he is one of the four key Doctors (from the Latin docere,
to teach or instruct) of the Western Church.
Gregory is renowned for his reform of Church
discipline and liturgical practices.
In his preaching he applied the Gospel to the needs of his listeners.
He sent Augustine of Canterbury to evangelise
the English.
Wall Hanging Banner: Dye sublimation printing on a 100% close weave,
natural feel polyester material with dowling, tulip wood end caps and gold
effect hanging cord. Fire retardant: BS5867/Type B DIN4102. An extra
depth of approx. 12" should be allowed when measuring to allow for the
hanging cord. A sample of the material can be supplied upon request.
